A Construction Themed Sensory Bin
A sensory bin is a simple container filled with materials that encourages hands-on, open-ended play and sensory exploration for toddlers. To make a construction-themed sensory bin, start with a base like kinetic sand, dry rice, or small pebbles. Then add stuff kids can use to scoop, pour, dig, and sort. Things like mini construction trucks, plastic shovels, and small blocks or “rocks” to move around. You can even mix in a few cardboard tubes or popsicle sticks to create roads, ramps, and building zones for extra pretend-play fun.

Build A Paper Roller Coaster
This is a fun STEM project for your older kids! Science Buddies has template sheets you can download and print on cardstock, along with a video tutorial.
Cardboard Construction Kit
Got any extra cardboard lying around the house? You've got your next activity! Cut your cardboard into squares, then add very narrow slits into the sides. And that's all the prep you need to do for it!
Slide the pieces together to see how many different creations you can make.
