JOB SUMMARY:

The Steel Tradesperson performs a variety of tasks for all types of commercial and industrial
construction sites specializing in steel and pre-engineered metal buildings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit sites to record survey measurements and descriptive data
  • Make computations pertaining to angles, distances, elevations, points, and contours
  • Research records for previous survey data and property records
  • Effectively utilize data collectors, levels, total stations, global positioning systems, and other surveying instruments
  • Utilize computer aided drafting and design software to prepare detailed survey maps and reports
  • Communicate clearly with clients and internal team members including using electronic tools and graphical representations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor
  • Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance to work outside extensively in all types of weather
  • Detail-oriented, precise and accurate in their work
  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Skilled with computer aided drafting and basic skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD or Civil 3D
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6 years related experience
  • Demonstrated experience independently completing surveys
  • Understanding of Wisconsin laws relating to land surveying
