A.C.E. Building Service Wins Accolades for Outstanding Construction Achievements

Two local A.C.E. Building Service projects have been recognized by ABC of Wisconsin as the most impressive and unique construction completed by a Wisconsin contractor in 2024.

Manitowoc, WIS, (January 2024) – A.C.E. Building Service, a Northeast Wisconsin-based provider of commercial and industrial construction services, announced it has been recognized for excellence in construction by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin for the 2023 Projects of Distinction Awards Program. The awards were presented on January 18th, 2024, during the Projects of Distinction Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet on January 18.

"Receiving recognition from ABC of Wisconsin as a Projects of Distinction award recipient is a true honor for us," said Chris Herzog, President of A.C.E. Building Service. "These awards highlight our unique construction offerings for industrial and commercial sectors and complement the efforts made by both the project teams and the talented tradespeople who brought the projects to life.”

A.C.E. Building Service was awarded Gold for both of its submitted projects, including the new 98,000 square foot corporate headquarters facility for the Dramm Corporation and the 55,000 sqaure foot manufacturing expansion for the Kaysun Corporation. Both projects were located in Manitowoc, WI.

Herzog added, “Both projects brought about their own unique challenges. There were countless hours of planning, preparation, meetings, and of course the physical construction of the projects, comprising over 74,000 labor hours between the two. The true measurement of success is gauged by the satisfaction of our clients. To be recognized by the Projects of Distinction program is icing on the cake for us.”

The Projects of Distinction Awards recognizes construction projects that are built on merit and are judged by a panel of construction experts based on several criteria, including quality, owner satisfaction, unusual challenges, and safety. The awards were presented at a banquet with 300 in attendance at The Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee.

“Projects of Distinction allows our members to display their excellence in construction,” said John Mielke, president of ABC of Wisconsin. “While some of these projects are quite large in size, there are unique projects of all sizes that demonstrate the talents of our members and their teams.”

A group of 28 judges evaluated the 51 projects in 17 different general contractor and specialty contractor categories. The field of judges included architects, engineers and educators in the construction industry.
