Pine River Dairy, a local butter production facility, needed updated intake bay construction as their milk delivery trucks had physically outgrown the existing intake bay over the years. Lowering the floor to create more clearance was not feasible due to the plumbing infrastructure, so the A.C.E. design-build team formulated a plan to raise the Spancrete roof deck approximately 40 inches. Unified hydraulics and cribbing typically used for moving structures was utilized to raise the roof, then additional masonry block was laid up to the new height and the roof deck lowered back down into place, creating sufficient headroom for deliveries.
