The Boat House

A.C.E. Building Service partnered with The Boat House in Door County to create a nearly 10,000-square-foot boat sales and showroom facility. The end result was the perfect combination of operational functionality with a design that complements the natural beauty of the area.

By utilizing a Butler Manufacturing pre-engineered steel building, we delivered a clear-span design that eliminates the need for interior support columns. This approach created a spacious, unobstructed showroom floor, perfect for showcasing boats. The building comprises two units: one dedicated to the showroom and the other housing office spaces, a customer relations center, and additional areas for office support functions.

Our team also worked closely with the local village to incorporate materials and architectural elements that adhered to their guidelines, such as stucco-faced insulated metal panels, wood-toned fiber cement siding, steel accents, and aluminum storefront glass.

Site Design: The Door County site presented challenges with shallow bedrock. Our team developed a site plan that minimized the need for drilling and blasting while maintaining proper drainage and grading.
Interior Features: We created a gallery-like showroom with matte black ceilings, exposed mechanical piping, LED strip downlights, and bright flooring to focus attention on the boats, enhancing the customer experience.
Exterior Enhancements: A galvanized accent band added visual interest, breaking up wall surfaces and complementing the aluminum storefront framing.
